I started this blog two months ago.
Writing it turned out to be much harder, more fun, and more addictive than I expected.
I have also learnt that publicising what I have written is going to take at least 50% of the time I spend actually writing. Funnily enough, being visible doesn’t remotely guarantee that anyone will read you.
This is okay. Everyone else has a message too. But they are all shouting their stuff at the same time, and it’s easy to feel like a small person tooting a little horn on a windy day.
Anyway, as of today, I have stuck my stick in the sand and officially joined the Yakezie challenge. (Yakezie is the web’s largest personal finance and lifestyle blog network)
It means posting consistently for the next 6 months, encouraging others and helping make them just as visible as I try to make myself, and seeing if I can climb the Alexa Ranking system and grow this blog into a sub 200,000 ranking. If I do this then I can join the network.
Some say the Alexa ranking is not very accurate but more of a very rough indication of traffic a website gets. Either way, it’s a good way to keep myself motivated and accountable.
Hello to my fellow Yakezie challengers! Stay tuned.
